The National Surveying and Mapping Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students originated from the Surveying and Mapping Skills Competition for College Students established by the Teaching Steering Committee of Surveying and Mapping Majors in institutions of higher education of the Ministry of Education and the Education Work Committee of the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping. A total of 243 colleges and universities in China have registered to participate in this competition, with more than 4500 participants in the final, which is the largest scale of the competition in history.
The School of Resources and Environmental Sciences attaches great importance to the competition. Since March, it has organized a number of dual-qualified and dual-ability teachers to mobilize students to participate in the competition, train and practice, select students on campus, and simulate the competition, laying the foundation for the excellent results in the competition. This competition not only fully demonstrated the solid professional skills and innovation ability of teachers and students majoring in geographic information science in our school, but also reflected the advantages of application-oriented talents training in our school, and improved the popularity of our school.
